A Brief Introduction ...
Acupuncture is a system of medicine that originated in China
over 2,500 years ago and hasnow become probably the most popular
complementary/alternative medicine in the Western world today. Used to treat
chronic and acute disease, acupuncture restores and maintains
health by the insertion of fine needles into specific points on the surface
of the body. This stimulates the different systems of the body to function
at their optimum level, allowing it to re-balance and enhance itself, by using
its own regenerative and self-healing powers. No drugs are used, in fact, often
and when appropriate, drug regimes are reduced and in some cases, eliminated
altogether. (In consultation with your GP)

Patients: I do hope you enjoy viewing this website and it answers most,
if not all, of the questions you may have about this fascinating subject.
For Existing Patients: I would like to take this opportunity to say how much I have
enjoyed the numerous conversations we have had over the years relating to Oriental
medicine and philosophy. It is your interest and fascination with this intriguing
subject, that has inspired me to collate and write the information before you. Therefore,
I do hope you can find, among the pages of this website, answers to most of
the questions that over the years, you may have asked and which I have tried
(probably inadequately) to answer...!
